Two old spinsters live together in a Nordic fishing village, dedicated to each other and above all to God. Their commitment to the Church — trained in them by an austere upbringing — has forced them to abandon their youthful ambitions. Unexpectedly, a French refugee, Babette, arrives on their doorstep. The sisters take her in, and in sincere gratitude, Babette serves as their maid and housekeeper.
Babette’s Feast played at the 2002 Heartland Film Festival in the Truly Moving Pictures from Around the World Sidebar.
