Beyond Right and Wrong: Stories of Justice and Forgiveness

Jo Berry’s father died in an IRA bombing in Brighton, England. Bassam and Rami suffered the loss of a daughter in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Beata’s five children were murdered in the Rwandan genocide. How does one recover from such trauma? Does justice heal? Does revenge? Forgiveness? Being human means being capable of doing anything. We can go to extremes of evil but we can also go the other way, to forgiveness and understanding. It is a need and capability of all humans to address the issues that come with grief, loss, victimization and the desire for justice and revenge. As these victims connect with their perpetrators, both sides find peace. None of these people say it’s OK that the loss happened, but they adjust to their new normal and seek purpose out of the loss. This film will truly leave you thinking.
