Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.
Everybody knows that there are high expectations for a new Disney•Pixar film and Brave managed to meet them. The Truly Moving Picture Award jury really responded to the main character of Merida and what an independent heroine she was without spending the film searching for a prince to save the day.
One of the most lasting effects was the powerful character development between Merida and her mother, the queen, as they grew to understand each other on a deeper level. Throughout the wonderful story, the jury was dazzled by the beautiful cinematography of Scotland’s majesty.
