An unlikely mentor uses basketball to shepherd an intellectually disabled teen and in turn becomes led himself into reconciliation with his estranged father. ‘Coach D’ Adam Donyes and Dave Sterling, were an unlikely pair that were strangely brought together and significantly affected each others lives in ways that were seemingly impossible— serving as ‘bridges’ for each other in reconciling with their respective fathers who had abandoned each of them long ago.

With echoes of The Blind Side, this film tells the story of two remarkable people, Dave and Adam. Adam’s interest takes Dave from being a silent, withdrawn, struggling student to a key member of the basketball team who after graduation, enters college; all of which was highly improbable when they first met. Adam, wanting to be a male figure in Dave’s life due to his own father’s abandonment, finds himself inspired by Dave’s determination in school and basketball and ability to forgive and love everyone, from school bullies to his own father. Unexpected, inspiring and thought-provoking.
