In 1939, four Soviet armies with 21 divisions and more than 400,000 soldiers crossed Finland’s borders. No one expected tiny Finland to resist the highly mechanized Red Army, the largest military force in the world. And no one anticipated 1939 would be one of the coldest winters in recorded history. Yet, out manned and outgunned, Finland proved their will of resistance. This brutal 105 day war between Finland and Russia changed the course of World War II.
