Buddhist monk Palden Gyatso spent 33 years in prisons and labor camps for peacefully demonstrating. Tortured, starved and sentenced to hard labor, he watched as his nation and culture were destroyed and his teachers, friends and family were displaced, jailed or killed under the Chinese occupation. This film not only exposes Palden’s unbreakable spirit and the tragic contours of the Tibetan nation, but also calls to mind a challenge to manifest true integrity in our lives.
Tibetan with English subtitles.
