Phil Green, an ambitious young reporter, accepts a difficult assignment to research and write a story on the power of anti-Semitism in America. In order to best learn about the issue, Green poses as a Jew, much to the chagrin of his sweetheart Kathy. As he digs deeper and deeper, he encounters increasing prejudice and outright racism, the most difficult to accept being the so-called “gentleman’s agreement”, whereby anti-Semitic prejudice is simply ignored.
