Patrick Dempsey hosts this Indianapolis medical documentary, sharing the story of a young girl suffering from heart failure, and the risky decision surgeons make to save her life. Ignoring the standard treatment of care in the U.S., her doctors instead turn to a device not approved for use by the F.D.A. This girl’s struggle brings to light a larger healthcare problem in America: a critical lack of modern medical devices for infants and children. The documentary seeks to raise awareness by asking why adults have access to life-saving technology while our youngest, and most helpless, patients do not.
