With his country of Rwanda torn apart by genocidal conflict, Paul Rusesebagina finds himself managing the one safe-haven in all of the capital of Kigali: a hotel on the outskirts of town home to a cadre of UN personnel and a small group of refugees. As the conflict escalates, Rusesebagina takes in more than a thousand refugees, buying their safety with bribes, courage, and cunning.
