Amir and Hassan are the best of friends during their childhood in Afghanistan, despite class lines and social castes that should keep them apart. After a series of unimaginable events, including the invasion of their country by Russian troops, Amir and his father flee to America.  Years later, after Amir has created a life for himself in the United States, he’s called back to his home for one last chance to do the right thing in life.

The Kite Runner played at the 2007 Heartland Film Festival in the Closing Night Event.
