A Man Named Pearl tells the inspiring story of self-taught topiary artist Pearl Fryar, whose unlikely journey to national prominence began with a bigoted remark. Fueled by a desire to overcome racial stereotype, over 30 years ago, Pearl began fashioning a garden that would attract positive attention. His goal began modestly, but has escalated into a greater purpose, bringing tourist dollars to a poor community and creating a haven where people of all races can feel peace, love and goodwill.
