In this moving and inspiring documentary, Director Socheata Poeuv travels with her parents to Cambodia to retrace her family’s journey from the killing fields at Khmer Rouge to their eventual safety in the United States.  In Cambodia, they visit the concentration camp where her parents met and experience emotional reunions with the few family members and friends who remain. Poeuv says of her parents and the film, “Somewhere along the way, I discovered that the secrets they held in shame also proved their great heroism.”
