Grover’s Corner in the early 20th century is the definition of small town. Nothing much changes from day to day and neighbors keep an eye out for one another. Emily and George fall in love, their youth disguising from them any hardships life may deal. When Emily dies in childbirth, she’s able to return to a happier time in her life. Noticing the joy her still-young parents get in the smallest moments brings Emily a new appreciation.
