The Retrieval

Set on the outskirts of the U.S. Civil War, Will is a fatherless 13 year-old boy working with his uncle for a bounty hunter gang that specializes in retrieving runaway slaves. Will is given a new assignment to head north on a dangerous mission to capture Nate, a man wanted for murder. Once they find Nate they lie to him saying that beyond the border his dying brother is waiting to see him one last time. During their journey towards the unwitting wanted man’s reckoning, the initially distant pair develops unexpected emotional bonds. As his feelings grow, Will is consumed by conflicting emotions and a gut-wrenching ultimate decision.
