Maria is a girl who thinks she should be come a nun. The wise reverend mother sends her to be a governess for the family of a widower with seven children. Captain Von Trapp, a former navy captain, runs his home like a ship. The children respond to Maria’s caring touch, and, eventually, so does the captain.
