Ten9Eight: Shoot For the Moon
In America, a kid drops out of high school every nine seconds. Imagine if they didn’t. This is the compelling question behind Ten9Eight, which tells the stories of several inner city teens from Harlem to Compton, as they prepare for and compete in an annual na- tionwide business plan competition sponsored by the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Many of the kids are dealing with the challenges of poverty, gangs and parents dealing with addiction. Through the competition, they are learning how to change their destiny. Although there can be only one winner, each student is empowered with the promise of a future they never thought possible.
