The Last Breeze of Summer

LIzzy Davis and five other junior high students are chosen to participate in a desegregation project in Middleland, Texas. The small town is the testing ground for judging whether to program can be implemented statewide.

Plagued with her own self-doubts, Lizzy must face her most difficult decision of all: should she retreat to the safe familiar world of her childhood, or return to the angry world which could fulfill her ambitions – a world where she must stand on her own.
