Ronnie Winslow stands accused of stealing a paltry sum and has been dismissed from the Royal Naval Academy. Insisting upon his innocence (the truth of which is left ambiguous), Ronnie’s father decides to clear his son’s name, whatever the cost. What proceeds is a lengthy court battle, helmed by renowned lawyer Sir Robert Morton, who manages to bring the case before Parliament. Costing the family a great deal of its fortune, the long battle for justice begins to prove tiresome.
